Accessibility
We want the Proficient Plus website to be usable by as many people as possible, and we target WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Our commitment
Proficient Plus LLC is committed to making its public website accessible to people of all abilities. We aim to provide a website that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, and we work to improve accessibility over time.
Accessibility standards
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility target. WCAG is an internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. This is a target we work toward; it is not a claim of formal certification or independent audit.
Accessibility features
The website is built with accessibility in mind, including:
- semantic HTML structure and clear heading hierarchy;
- a “skip to main content” link;
- text and background color combinations chosen to support readable contrast;
- descriptive labels for interactive elements; and
- responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes.
Keyboard accessibility
The website is designed to be navigable using a keyboard. Interactive elements such as navigation links, buttons, form fields, and expandable questions can be reached and operated with the keyboard, and a visible focus indicator shows the current position.
Visual accessibility
We aim for readable text sizes and sufficient color contrast for body text, headings, labels, and interactive controls. The site remains usable when text is enlarged and when the browser is zoomed.
Motion and animation
Decorative motion on the site is limited. The website respects the operating-system “reduced motion” preference, reducing or removing non-essential animation for people who choose that setting.
Forms and interactive content
Form fields have associated labels, required fields are indicated, and validation messages are announced to assistive technology. Status messages, such as success or error confirmations on the contact form, are communicated in an accessible way.
Mobile and responsive accessibility
The website is responsive and is intended to work across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, with layouts that reflow to avoid unnecessary horizontal scrolling.
Assistive technology and browser support
We aim to support current versions of major browsers and common assistive technologies, such as screen readers. Because assistive technologies and browsers vary, some experiences may differ.
Third-party content and services
Some functionality relies on third-party services, such as the Cloudflare Turnstile check on our contact form. We do not control the accessibility of third-party components, but we choose and configure them with accessibility in mind and provide an alternative way to reach us.
Ongoing accessibility
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we update the website, we review new and changed content against our WCAG 2.2 Level AA target and address issues we identify.
Reporting an accessibility issue
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, please let us know. Email info@proficient-plus.com or use our Contact page, and describe the page and the difficulty you experienced so we can investigate.
Alternative access
If any content or function on the website is not accessible to you, contact us and we will work with you to provide the information or assistance you need through an alternative method.
Continuous improvement
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Proficient Plus website. Your input helps us identify improvements and prioritize fixes.
